This inspirational shoot features a regal inspired love story with a modern edge.
Sarah Valencia, owner and planner at Our Jonrah Events, explains. “We wanted to showcase the classicality and class of two committing their lives to another, while also displaying the charm and intimacy of a wedding for two.
Featuring a renaissance-inspired colour scheme in golden hues and rich colours, we utilized a variety of faux and dried florals, gold statement jewelry, decadent treats and food to bring together elegance and romance. With our ceremony backdrop, we played with two arches so the middle macrame piece could look like it’s floating as its anchor is a black arch blended in with the dungeon-like doors. We thoughtfully wanted to play with perspective and utilize areas of the venue that may not be considered – such as setting the sweetheart table under the sheltered pergola against a backdrop of natural snow capped birch trees.
Given the complexity of COVID, we opted for minimal hands on deck and only had three vendors on site. As such, everyone was serving double duty and with no option for a caterer, our planner was the one that arranged the grazing table. The photographer styled and dressed the couple. Our florist was also our decorator and provided rentals. Proving the resourcefulness of vendors during this time, but also how weddings can still be thoughtful and proceed with safe precautions.”
